Between 2000 and 2018, the majority of the $1.5B of public funding that the UK, US and Canada invested in “cannabis research” went to try to prove harmful effects of cannabis instead of it’s medical benefits. 😞 Politicians often use the excuse: “There isn't enough research” to avoid legalization but there are currently 34,492 cannabis studies listed on the government's Pubmed website.

Mark Zuckerberg’s foundation donated $500,000 to promote Oregon's ballot initiative decriminalizing all hard drugs. Speaking of which, we included information on a recent Bay Area measure looking to increase the number of safe injection sites and research analyzing the concept by NPR. While New Jersey legalization is looking imminent this election, Maine finally opened its first dispensaries four years after voter approval! Either through intentional delays or bureaucracy, politicians often take their time in making rules. Did you know that the constitution was written in only four months? And they didn't even have the internet back then to copy other constitutions. ☺
