Hi,

This week, we wanted to highlight media fear-mongering and misinformation regarding THC and nicotine vapes. There have been some illnesses due to THC vaping and it seems that vitamin E oil is the culprit.

In the e-cig world, dangerous health claims are abruptly surfacing. While these may not be false, 1300 people die daily from cigarette smoke. England’s Public Health Service, who provides and pays for healthcare, claims that e-cig use is 20 times safer than smoking cigarettes and shows the lack of cancerous tar with a video experiment. They recommend that smokers try e-cigs as they are the most effective smoking cessation technique. Michigan banned all flavored nicotine vapes but will this result in more youths and adults moving to cigarettes to get their nicotine fix? If so, it will increase the cancer and death rates.

The media should focus on the Fentanyl epidemic. An LA times article below does just that, taking you inside the Mexican/Chinese drug trade. Also, Tim Ferriss, the author of "The 4-hour Workweek", has donated to help John Hopkins build a research institute exploring the medical benefits of psychedelic drugs.

Thanks and have a great week!
