That should buy the state some time to figure out what they are doing. :) For years there has been a stat circulating that cannabis legalization reduces opioid overdoses by 25%. A new study continues this analysis for recent years and disputes the findings. In my opinion, maybe the original conclusions were flawed but there are plenty of studies that show cannabis and CBD are positive in reducing opioid addiction. A couple of weeks ago, Mt. Sinai showed that CBD is an effective deterrent for heroin use. Given that 80% of heroin addicts started with prescription drugs, 420 use should have a direct relationship with reducing overdoses. After all, cannabis, CBD and opioids help you deal with pain. But you can’t overdose from cannabis or CBD so they act as a safer replacement. A study on veterans below supports this.
